What I Wore #8 - Worst Pics EVER!

I'm always amazed by other bloggers' outfit posts - the photos, the poses, how it all looks so perfectly put together and professional. How do you guys do that?!

I am not amongst the lucky bloggers who have a DSLR with which to take outfit pictures - I use my iphone 4S and a self timer. Yep, for every single picture I have to set the timer, balance my phone on something (the most glamourous so far was atop a box of Linda McCartney sausages, which was in turn balanced on the clothes airer) and run like a maniac to my spot, get into position and try to look calm and composed before the dreaded "beep, beep, beep" of the countdown.

Sometimes this works out relatively okay and sometimes, more often than not, it really doesn't! This, my friends, was one of the latter type days. Something went wrong with almost every picture - from the light being terrible, to not hearing the countdown, to my boyfriend Hannes trying to photobomb me with Soldier.

I gave up in the end and decided to use the photos anyway, because I really liked the outfit and life isn't perfect, y'all.

I've spoken here before about blogger honesty and not portraying a fake life, so perfect photos be damned! I'm not above posting unflattering/less than stellar pictures of myself. You can still see the outfit and that's what counts. Plus, if it makes someone smile and reminds them that a blogger is just a person too, then that's even better.

Yes, that is Soldier poking through my arm. And no, I
don't have three feet - Hannes is hiding behind me.

Another photobomb. Sigh.
Hooray, an almost okay one! Apart from the light...
and the wind...and cutting off half my feet...

At least I managed to get a few half decent detail shots.

I saved this one 'til last, because it's my personal favourite - I was attacked by nature!

Oh, the humanity!

I hate taking photos in the holidays, when my boyfriend's not around - self-timing is such a pain!

  5. Oh I love the photo of the boots! I know of other bloggers who get great photos from their iPhones, but I think they have those tripods for their phones.. In any case, I love that you decided to post these anyways. They're fun and we can still see how cute the outfit is <3
