What I Wore // KimoNO YOU DIDN'T
I am just going to straight up say that I was so pleased with myself, no, gleeful, when I came up with this post title. I'm easily pleased.
I tried to resist the kimono bandwagon, I really did. I even made a conscious effort to avoid it. Sure, they're pretty, but I tend to stay away from trends - especially those that are likely to vanish just as quickly as they appeared.
However. I was doing some grocery shopping in Asda about a week ago and, there in the sale rail, betwixt some garish neon nightmare and what looked like a potato sack, I saw it: a floaty, kimono top with a pastel, Japanese style print. No, no...I couldn't possibly...could I? I think I actually winced at myself as I picked it up. It was reduced to £5 - this itself told me the fad is coming to an end already, but I don't care if things go out of fashion - if I like something, I wear it. Plus, I'd wear it around the house as a robe. SOLD.
I've already got my money's worth, as I've worn it multiple times since buying it, thanks to the glorious (now absconded) sunshine. I wore it simply, with a plain vest and denim cut-offs, then flounced around the garden, mostly. A quick trip into town garnered a compliment of "Lovely kimono!", which gave me a smug sense of justification.
Um, let's not talk about what a state my hair was that day. I'm not fond of washing it. Or doing anything at all to it. I really need to sort out that awful faded brown though.
Hope you're having a splendid Saturday!
