Friday Favourites #25

I thought I wasn't going to have much to include today, as it feels like it's been a quiet week, but looking back through my photos I was pleased to find lots of moments to share. That's what I love about posts like this - remembering all the happy little things that make life special, especially as my chemo-fried memory isn't what it used to be.

A late, lazy breakfast. I love being at home. Love, love, love it. Just pottering around, taking care of myself and doing whatever I want. Perfect.

Poppet being a cutie pie, hanging out in her favourite drawer.

I couldn't resist these dinosaur pyjamas and I'm glad I treated myself, as they are the comfiest thing I've ever worn in my life, ever. For real. And of course I love these diner stickers, because diners. And stickers.

It was National Hotdog Day earlier in the week and Hannes and I will jump on any excuse to make yummy food, so we cooked up some veggie frankfurters and I made potato salad with potatoes we grew ourselves! So exciting and it was delicious.

Soldier's having a love/hate relationship with the weather at the moment - he loves being outside, but he's finding it far too hot and keeps flopping around on the floor. Poor pickle.

I found a vintage flower press in a charity shop recently and this week I finally got round to picking some flowers to press. I can't wait to see how they turn out.

More stuff that I grew! Actually, not strictly true, as I was given the tomato plant. It hadn't yet flowered though, so I did help it grow big enough to produce these little cherry toms. There are quite a few more on their way too. I really dig this growing malarky.

My mum sent me this picture of a little prickly guy she found on her doorstep. I'm so jealous - I love hedgehogs!

I made two thank you cards for people this week, which means I must have a lot to be thankful for. The first was for my hairdresser for doing such a great job with my blue hair and the second card was for my neighbours, to say thanks for the awesome vintage swing seat they gave me. I also baked them a banana loaf cake.

It felt so good to be crafting and drawing and making again. I can't wait to get my office/workspace set up properly so that I can get to making stock for my Etsy store. There will be cards, stationery, illustrations, prints, handmade goodies and bits and bobs of vintage. Meanwhile, if you'd like to commission a card for a special occasion, or anything else, pop me an email! (Just click the envelope icon at the top of the page).

All these little snippets bring me such joy - I hope you enjoy sharing them. What have been your favourite moments this week? Make sure you take time to love the little things!

xx

  1. Each time I read these posts, I think to myself that I need to start snappy some pictures to record all the good things and share them each week. Oh my, Poppet is super cute! I had a Chinchilla when I was younger who was completely black, the most gorgeous guy out there!

    1. Aww, a black one! Chinchillas are so great :) I keep meaning to do a dedicated chinnie post, to properly introduce my two - they definitely deserve their own post!

    1. My mum always made me send them when I was a kid and it's stuck with me - I feel super rude if I don't send one! xx

  4. Lovely post! I am loving being at home at the minute too, it's so nice to get up and have the whole day to myself. My cat is having the same reaction the weather, she kind of wants to lie in a patch of sun, but she soon gets grumpy and then doesn't want to move! x

    1. Aww, it must be tough for them having so much fur in the summer! I thought about giving Soldier a haircut, but I'd probably lose an arm in the process! x
