Friday Favourites #29

As mentioned yesterday, I've been a busy bee, tidying, organising and such, so I haven't been out much or even taken many pictures this week, which is very unlike me! I am definitely looking forward to the weekend, relaxing and getting out a bit more.

Here are my favourite moments from the past seven days. Perhaps rather predictably, they revolve around food and my cat...

Kicking off with some coffee, sweetened with maple syrup. I can't believe I used to hate maple syrup - what was wrong with me?!

Continuing the maple syrup theme with some gosh darn delicious American pancakes.

Finally getting my crafty workspace in order!

Tea and cake! This cake was unbelievably scrummy and, was only £1.29 in Lidl. Go figure!

Flashback Friday - kitty edition! I loved rediscovering this snap of itty bitty baby Soldier! He's always had such massive owl eyes!

Still as playful as ever, now that he's all grown up. Can't believe my baby is nine!

Now that I've finished Orphan Black, I've been on the lookout for a new series to watch. I decided on True Detective, after hearing good reviews and its huge critical acclaim, not to mention various awards it's racked up. I'm really enjoying it, but it is bleak. I can only watch one episode at a time, otherwise it gets a bit much, however it really is good: Matthew McConnaughey is both unrecognisable and superb - who knew?! The premise is that the two lead characters are trying to solve a strange murder, but it's about so much more than than that and, whilst the character aren't very likeable, they are compelling and somehow make you want to keep watching. I'd recommend it!

I hope those of you who started watching Orphan Black on my recommendation, are enjoying it!

Have a super weekend!

  1. I'm really enjoying Orphan Black! We watched a few episodes of True Detective over dinner but we couldn't get into it. I think it's because it requires a lot of attention, we'll probably start again and try to give it our (well, my) full attention. It is a bit bleak though, I agree there.

    1. True Detective definitely needs a lot of attention. That's another reason I can only watch one episode at a time! Each one is a full hour long and when the credits roll I always let out a big sigh, but I keep coming back for more! The characters are assholes, but I still want to watch!

I love to read your comments and thoughts, so why not leave me some Tiny Grey Cat chat!
