What I Wore // My Arch Nemesis

Jeans - UGH. I hate them.

Actually, that's not true. I love them on other people, but hate them on me. Purely because they never, ever, fit. Ever. And they are just the most uncomfortable item of clothing. I don't even bother looking at them in shops any more.

On this occasion, I was taking my new doggy friend Bertie for a walk and didn't want to get any of my nice clothes dirty, so on a whim I decided to try on my old jeans, which live at the back of the wardrobe. Boy, they were snug. I knew I'd put on weight, but there's nothing quite like the discomfort of too-small jeans to let you know just how out of shape you are!

Needless to say, they only stayed on for the duration of the walk and, as soon as I was home, I slipped into some soft, stretchy leggings. I felt like Regina George in Mean Girls: "Sweatpants are all that fit me right now". Waaah!

I'm wearing:
Bandana - vintage
Checked shirt - H&M
Leopard t-shirt - Primark
Black jeans - Dorothy Perkins (old)
Boots - Target (old)

This is probably the first and last time you'll ever see me wearing jeans! I almost don't want to even post this, because just looking at these pictures is making me uncomfortable.

Oh, if you're wondering what the strange blurriness across the road is, it's where I (badly) tried to erase out a car that was parked there, haha. One of these days I might learn how to do things properly.

Hope you have a great day!

xx

  1. Oh man, I own one pair of jeans and avoid wearing them at all cost...I wear yoga/workout/comfy pants, the holy grail of those are ones with pockets. Jeans are just so snazzy looking but so unpleasant to wear.

Also which dye do you use for your hair? It is so gloriously bright! I have sadly noticed that my teal hair fades something fierce and I think I need a new brand.

    1. They really are uncomfortable! I've given up hope of ever finding jeans that fit and/or feel nice.

Oh thank you! I'm currently using Manic Panic dye. They do an 'amplified' range which is supposed to last longer than the normal range. I haven't noticed a big difference in fade time, but the colour is very pigmented :) You also need your base colour to be as light a blonde as possible, especially for blue colours to last well and look bright. x

  2. I like jeans but I hate them too... lol Sometimes they are so tight I feel like I'm going to faint. But I love finding jeans that are still kinda loose... those are amazing and comfy :D Anyways, I really like your outfit. I think you look great :)

    1. I would love a pair of loose 'boyfriend' jeans, as I love how they look on other people. But I just know they would be awful on me!
Thank you, but I won't be wearing those jeans again any time soon, haha!

  3. I always loved jeans, but then go kind of bored with them and the fact I'd gained quite a bit of weight. Nothing like a pair of jeans to make you feel frumpy and crap. I started to wear more skirts and dresses but I still tend to wear jeans for work as it's much easier.

For what it's worth, I think this outfit looks great and I think you look great too!

    1. Exactly! When I put these on, it felt like they were saying "Jeez, you've got WAY bigger!" I felt so uncomfortable and chunky.
Ugh, thanks, but I think these pictures are deceiving - I did not look good in real life! Booo.

  4. Man, we are total opposites! I practically live in jeans. I even sneakily wear black ones to work. You look fab in this jeans though! Lisa x (@cthulhuwakes)

    1. I used to love them when I was little and built like a string bean. Then I grew hips, thighs and a big ass, and now there doesn't seem to be a pair of jeans in the world that will fit me!
Maybe when I've lost some weight I'll like them again! x
