American Purchases

Hey blog buds!

I thought I'd share some of the supercute things I picked up whilst in America recently. I love shopping in the States - they have so much more cute stuff and it's way easier to find adorable pastel coloured things than it is here. Not to mention how much cheaper everything is there - why do we get ripped off so badly in the UK? And more to the point, why do we just put up with it?!

I digress. Here's a chunk of my purchases, which contributed to my suitcase being on the very, very edge of the weight limit on my way home, eek!

I have such a weakness for fabric. Before going into the store for craft supplies, my friends and I made a deal that none of us were allowed to buy any fabric. Needless to say, the deal was quickly broken and we all left with several fabrics each. These are just three of the ones I bought. There are more. Not even sorry.

Another thing America does well is stationery, especially planners. I can never find a simple, sweet planner for my blog, until I stumbled on this one. I love it and can't wait to use it to get more organised in 2015!

One of the perks of visiting at the start of November, is that everywhere had Halloween stuff on sale! I nabbed these spooky bits and pieces - a slate trick or treat sign, washi tape, a bat craft punch and a Halloween rubber stamp.

Of course, as soon as Halloween is done, out come the Christmas wares! I love this plate and matching travel tumbler, and I also picked up a little stocking for Molly.

We all know we have America to thank for pumpkin-spiced-everything, so of course I had to grab a few candles in my favourite scents. This pumpkin nutmeg pie candle smells utterly divine. I'll be so sad when it's gone!

Always a fan of vintage fairground/circus themed things, I couldn't say no to these tickets. I'm probably going to find a way to use them with my Etsy orders - maybe for tiny thank you notes.

I'm excited to get these vintage style tin signs up on my wall! They were 50% off in the sale and so were a steal!

I absolutely love my new kitty hairbrush and it matches the lipstick case I use to carry my bobbypins, perfectly! It's also the nicest brush I've ever used - it doesn't drag or pull my hair at all - score!

Finally, a selection of pastel goodies. I can't wait to put those keyboard decals onto my Macbook! And how cute are those make-up brushes?! Anything original My Little Pony is obviously also a winner.

So, now I'm pretty broke...and have to somehow buy Christmas presents...hmmm...

I also snagged a load of awesome vintage treats at a flea market/antiques mall, but they can have their own dedicated post another day.

I'm off to swoon over my treasures, like a magpie. Have a great Tuesday!

xx

  2. I've never been to America and it's for exactly this reason! I know I'd spend a fortune, so I'm planning on a NYC trip for my 30th in a couple of years purely to shop until I pass out. All the stuff you got is so gorgeous, I'm super jealous!

  3. Ah its always so interesting to hear someone else's perspective on our shopping. You definitely got some great stuff! I think its funny cause I never noticed the pastel stuff we have and I don't ever consider stuff extremely cheap but I guess the exchange rate is in your favor. I think that ticket house is adorable! Where did you get it. I also am assuming you took a trip to Michael's craft store and Target! I love that planner from Target I have been debating getting the same for myself.

    1. I sure did go to Target and Michael's! I love Target so much! I think the tickets were from Hobby Lobby. I'd definitely recommend the planner - it's lovely and simple, with no annoying pages that I'll never use. Just a straight up planner - perfect! x
