What I Wore // Operatorium Jewellery

I'd been admiring Operatorium Jewellery on Instagram for a while, so when the owner - the gorgeous Leila - announced she was looking for some bloggers to send some goodies to, I jumped at the chance.

I was lucky enough to receive four pieces of jewellery: two necklaces, a ring and pair of earrings and, they are all beautiful!

One of the necklaces is a small glass bulb on a vintage style brass chain, filled with real dandelion seeds, from a dandelion clock. Hanging next to it is a tiny pair of clock hands. So dainty and whimsical! The second necklace has a little silver arrow on a long, silver chain, paired with the prettiest pendant. I'm not sure if it's a stone or not, but it reflects all different colours when the light catches it, from pink to purple, to blue, to green, to yellow. It's really quite mesmerising!

The earrings I received are vintage style cameos featuring sweet little yellow roses. To me they feel very elegant and charming. They will definitely work well with some of my vintage outfits.

How cute is this ring? A tiny crescent moon dangles alongside a clear bead, on a silver band. The hanging charms give a nice individual twist on a very current trend.

I have to mention the packaging, as I'm such a sucker for anything well wrapped! My items came parcelled up in pages from an old dictionary, which was such a nice and unique touch. It made me feel like I was unwrapping old treasures. Leila's business cards also show how much thought and effort she puts into her work.

Here's how I styled some of the pieces into an outfit, on a day when I was all about black.

Wearing:

Hat - Forever 21
Dress - New Look (old)
Jacket - H&M
Necklace, drop earrings and moon ring - c/o Operatorium Jewellery
Plain band rings - Forever 21
Turquoise ring and tiger's eye ring - vintage
Silver glitter shoes - Primark
Bag - Oasis

You can see the colours in the necklace really well at different angles - it looks so mystical! All of the pieces work really well together, which is great, as sometimes I like my jewellery my match. However, they are also strong enough to stand out as individual statement pieces.

I love how quirky Operatorium Jewellery is, with just the right mix of hard edge, whimsy, steampunk, mysticism and fun - it caters to all sides of my personality! So whether you're a rocker, hippie chick, boho babe, or fancy princess, you're sure to find something you'll love, either for yourself or for a lovely Christmas gift. Why not take a look at Leila's creations on her Instagram, or her online shop.

Have you bought anything from Operatorium Jewellery? What are your favourite pieces in the shop? I'm eyeing up the flamingo studs and the dinosaur drop earrings!

xx

I was kindly gifted the jewellery in this post for review purposes, but they are clearly items I would buy and wear myself. I only give my 100% honest opinion and will only review/promote items from brands I support and believe in.

  3. I tried to make my own dandelion fluff in a bulb necklace but I was never happy with how it looked when I wore it. The dandelion seemed to disappear against my skin or any colour other than black leaving me looking like i was wearing an empty bulb. What happens when you wear yours?

    1. Oh really? I've not noticed that, but then I do wear a lot of black! I will experiment and report back!
