Sunday Life Cereal

Okay, okay - I know, it's Monday. I got a bit behind my schedule over the weekend, so Sunday Cereal is here on a Monday instead. Let's all pretend it's still the weekend, yay!

It's been a pretty good week, with lots of sweet moments to enjoy and memories made. That's what it's all about!

The week wouldn't be complete without eating my favourite snack at least once - avocado and hot sauce on toast. All the better for being served on a Hello Kitty plate.

Being such an historical place, my city is frequently used for filming period dramas and such. This week there was a big hullabaloo as a certain Mr Benedict Cumberbatch was in town, filming for Sherlock. I've never seen it, but I strolled down to the location for a nosy. All I got to see was this tiny bit of set. I also saw a phone-filmed clip of Benedict sitting in a leather chair by a fireplace. It all looked rather Dickensian. Apparently it's for the Christmas special. You saw it here first - Sherlock exclusive!

Speaking of this glorious city, I went for a lovely walk around the park and botanical gardens with my mum. Despite the freezing temperatures, there are already signs of spring popping up - so pretty! The Georgian architecture looked beautiful in the winter sunshine, too. We stopped for a cup of tea and a toasted teacake, which we had to share because, no joke, it was the size of my head.

It's been a week of celebrations: firstly, I finally had some cards ready to sell and they sold out in two days, hooray! I love how they look, all packaged up. I'll be doing another print run, so if you'd still like one, drop me a line at tinygreycat@gmail.com They are just £2 each!

My second celebration was realising that Friday marked two years since I finished my cancer treatment. Sheesh, I can't begin to put into words how I feel, so I'll just share a pic of the champagne I bought to mark the occasion.

On Saturday, I went to watch a local roller derby bout. I love roller derby, but this was my first time watching it live. It was so great! I didn't think it would be anywhere near as full contact as American derby, but I was wrong! It got pretty intense and was so exciting. One poor girl went down pretty hard and ended up needing gas and air and her foot/lower leg in a brace. Yikes! I hope she's okay! Sadly my team didn't win, but it was a great match.

It's been a fab week for new arrivals...

My living room has been brightened up for the impending spring, with these precious flamingo cushions.

I'm all set for Valentine's Day with this supercute scarf and mitten set I picked up in a charity shop.

MY LITTLE PONY TRAINERS!! Be still my heart! They are everything I had hoped and dreamed they would be, plus, they are super comfy. I feel so 80s fabulous in them. I'll be wearing the heck out of these babies!

  • Cider With Rosie - I love shortbread and Rosie's recipe for dark chocolate and lemon shortbread rounds, has me drooling and running to the kitchen!
  • Through the Thicket - Being a crazy cat lady, I love blogs that share my feline fandom. Kathryn's Caturday post had me smiling from ear to ear.

How has your week been? Have you made any lasting memories?
Sending you all a big Monday hug!

xx

  2. We had a wander through the botanical gardens in Amsterdam on the weekend and despite everything being dead there were a few snowdrops still hanging on in one little corner. Ahh spring time!

    1. That sounds lovely! I love walking in parks and gardens. I can't wait for them to bloom and be full of colour in the spring! I really need to visit Amsterdam again too.
