Sunday Cereal

What a difference a week makes!

I'm finding it hard to concentrate on anything or think of anything other than my big, nay, huge news: WE'VE BOUGHT A HOUSE!

I mentioned last week that we had put in an offer on a house that we really liked and, a couple of days later, we found out it had been accepted. Eeeeek! Solicitors have been instructed and there is no chain on either side, so all being well, it should go through smoothly.

We went to look at it again yesterday and I was nervous that we wouldn't like it as much, but I needn't have worried. It is pretty perfect for us and one of the best things about it, is that I'm going to have my very own studio/craft room! Aaaahhh, I'm so excited about it! There is also a wood burning stove, which was on our wishlist and I cannot wait to be all toasty in the winter. After the unbearable minus-temperatures of my current house, it will be bliss.

I'm not sure what the timescale is for moving...Hannes has a meeting this week to go through all the mortgage stuff, then I guess if that's all fine (please let it be!) and as long as the survey doesn't show anything bad, then it'll be full steam ahead. Choo choo!

With all that excitement, I've been pretty distracted! I did manage to organise myself enough to take part in a loop giveaway over on Instagram - thank you if you entered! A lovely lady in Sweden won my prize and I can't wait to send it to her and see it hanging up in her home. I'll be adding the same ice cream print to my Etsy soon, so keep checking back if you've been after one!

Speaking of Etsy, I still have some Mother's Day goodies available for you American darlings. There's just about still time to order, ready for May 10th! Go on - treat yo' mama!

I can't remember which day, but sometime this week (pretty much every day, let's be honest), I was really craving cake. Not just any cake; big, fat, chocolate cake with buttercream frosting. So I got to it and whipped up a squidgy yumfest.

Some other sweet snippets from my week included playing with my My Little Ponies, super Molly snuggles (and Soldier snuggles, but he usually snuggles at night at the moment, because he's out enjoying the sun all day) and more things covered in sprinkles, because sprinkles are the best ever.

This coming week my class starts up again, which I'm excited about. I can't wait to learn more and work on new things for my store. I'll also be wigging out until the mortgage application is done and dusted, so I'll be distracting myself by window shopping for new furniture and things to fill my studio with, eep!

Lastly, I am drooling over the early birthday present I just bought myself...

A vintage. Unicorn. Planter. *Faints*. It's coming all the way from America, so I hope it arrives quickly and intact! I am so in love with her already. My birthday is at the end of May, FYI... ;)

I hope you have all had a lovely week and that Monday treats you well!

What are you looking forward to this week?

xx

  1. Excellent news on the house! Very exciting! We've gone through the conveyancing process twice now and each time it's taken 3 months from putting the offer in to actually getting the keys - I think that's a fairly standard length of time. I look forward to seeing and hearing all about it! :-) xx

    1. Thanks, m'dear! I really hope it goes through smoothly and quickly, but I keep hearing stories of nightmare solicitors taking forever to do anything and not being able to move in for months! Eek! Hope that doesn't happen! x
