Sunday Cereal

Hey kittens.

Golly, it's been a while. You may have caught my last, brief post about having issues with Blogger, which are ongoing and still driving me nuts. I've found a temporary fix, but it's not a satisfactory solution and the whole nightmare actually has me considering a move to Wordpress. I'm a total technophobe though, so we'll see.

As well as having issues with Blogger, I've also been having issues as a blogger. I haven't been feeling it recently, or wanting to share. Some things have been getting me down and I didn't want to write about it. Plus I was ill for a couple of weeks, which really took it out of me and with life going on I just didn't feel like blogging. It's good to take a break sometimes and I'm starting to feel more like sharing again.

This is all sounding super vague - I'm sorry! I may dedicate a post to elaborating on it all. For now though, here are some snaps of what has been making me smile lately.

The past few weeks have been full of good thrifting finds, lots of cool animals, tasty treats, beautiful spring blooms, new glasses, much pink, many pastels, tons of kitty and chinchilla cuteness, and fun times meeting up with Instagram friends, all the way from Australia. There have even been a few blue skies!

I spent a good chunk of this weekend baking all those cupcakes to sell at a fundraiser, for the Nepal earthquake. It's always good to help others in need and if you can't afford to donate money, finding another way to help is such a nice way to contribute.

Hope you're all well, my friends.

  1. I came across that stupid thing with blogger too! the other day, never happened before and then suddenly all my newly uploaded photos looked like pants!
My temporary solution was to write my posts like normal, upload the photos and then when it's all finished, put them all at "original size" (when you click on them in blogger and that little menu turns up) and that seemed to fix everything.
When I looked into the HTML, it seemed that blogger was resizing the image based on the size of the image in the blog post editor (I usually have them set to small and my custom CSS overrides that and resizes the images to 1600) - apparently bloggers is now overriding my custom CSS.

Maybe this is different to your solution, maybe not. I'd love to hear your solution too :)

    1. Nope, that's exactly the same as what's happening to me. I've been uploading my pics into a post, then going to the html and altering the second photo url for each pic, from s320 to s1600. Blogger has changed a setting so that it's uploading pictures at a small size and like you, it's blocking my CSS override. Manually changing the html is working, but it's a pain in the ass having to do it for every single photo!

    2. That's what I was first doing, but decided that making them original size was a little less annoying haha. Hopefully they will have another update or something and fix it. I hope!

  2. Awww, those little piglets are too cute and I love all of the cat photos too. I definitely get that feeling a lot, especially recently, where life can get you down and those things you don't always want to share on your own space - I feel your pain! I hope whatever's been getting you down gets better soon though :) - Tasha

    1. Thanks for your sweet words, Natasha :)
The piglets were so unbelievably cute! <3

  3. Look at those piglets!!!
I know what you mean about not feeling it, sometimes I try so hard to get my words out for a blog post, it feels unnatural. Then I feel like I'm conning my readers :/ and other times words flow like no tomorrow. It's good to have a break, especially if you've been poorly! Hope you're feeling better now, lovely photos! xxx

    1. Yeah - I don't like forcing it, so if I don't feel like it, I just don't do it. There are already too many fake, 'my life is perfect' bloggers around!
Thanks, dear - just about better now! x

I love to read your comments and thoughts, so why not leave me some Tiny Grey Cat chat!
